A new sightseeing experience is set to hit the streets of Khanh Hoa Province as the local government has approved a 12-month pilot plan for a double-decker bus service. The decision, announced on September 12, comes in response to a proposal from the provincial Department of Transport.

The non-subsidized service will be implemented in stages, with the Department of Transport coordinating with relevant agencies to conduct surveys, evaluate potential routes, and select a suitable transport company to operate the buses.

To ensure environmental sustainability, the People’s Committee of Khanh Hoa Province has mandated that all participating units and vehicles adhere to environmental technical requirements and align with the province’s Green Economy Plan.

Prior to the approval of the double-decker bus service, the West Pacific Investment & Travel Joint Stock Company had proposed two sightseeing bus routes using open-top single-decker buses. The proposed routes would have taken visitors through the city’s iconic landmarks and historical sites.

The “City Tour” bus would depart from the Nha Trang Oceanographic Institute and traveled along major thoroughfares, passing by renowned attractions such as Tran Phu Bridge, Po Nagar Cham Towers, and Long Son Pagoda. The “Nha Trang Sightseeing Tour” would have started from Thanh Nien (Youth) Park and followed a similar route, focusing on the city’s central areas.

Ticket prices for the sightseeing bus services were estimated to range from VND75,000 to VND250,000 per passenger. Introducing double-decker sightseeing buses is expected to enhance the tourism experience in Khanh Hoa Province and attract more visitors to the region.
